Photos From Our 4/1/17 Alvarado Park "Bird Song Ecology" Field Trip Courtesy Of Ken Twain

.....& good day....& thanks to Ken's great photography skills, please note he captured the perched Orange-crowned Warbler (below, 3rd photo from top) that our lucky 30 "Bird Songing" class members (see photo, below) enjoyed........and the Anna's Hummingbird female on her nest (initial two photos, below)....that probably hosts two eggs.

......Spectacular memories for us all, if I may say so....What are your favorite memories? Discoveries? Concepts you learned during the field trip? -- as I noticed many of you were taking excellent notes per my explanation/interpretation along the trail.

Please feel free to share your thoughts to the above questions below via the "comments" section.

Thank you and my students should please look soon for directions to our upcoming Saturday, 4/8/17, 9 am - 1:50 pm, field trip to Point Pinole Regional Park in Point Pinole.

Regards (!) Daniel Edelstein

An excellent day!

Here's the photo I'd mentioned of Two hummingbird's fighting
https://flic.kr/p/qiYxoc

Favorite memory was the Allen's doing it's back and forth diving dance and then wing whirr toward the end of the trip. But lots of good stuff bird (and otherwise).

Really good reminder with many examples about minding the phrenology of birds and the ecosystems to look for then in. Knowing what to expect. Made some recordings so i could try and remember better the song and call.
