STUDENT PHOTOS: From Our "Orntihology" Class Field Trip 10/6/18 To Skaggs Island Rd., Sonoma & Napa Co.

Glorious day on Saturday 10/6/18 with nearly 40 bird species seen, among them rare sightings such Swainson's Hawk, in addition to the uncommon, secretive Barn Owl.

Equally impressive — perhaps jaw-dropping —: 15 White-tailed Kite (a raptor) roosting in the distance at an autumn social event,.....evidently (!)

Photos follow, BELOW, from students Harte Singer (initial three) Susana de Trapaga (final five photos) and . Thanks so much!.....See you 10/13/16 at our next field
(Hawk Hill, Sausalito, 9 AM - 2:50 PM)

(NOTE: Harte's perched Red-tailed Hawk is a dark morph -- which is somewhat rare to see as a color phase for this species...and it was from our initial 9/30/18 field trip to Wildcat Regional Park (Alvarado section)....)
