Hello students:
Given I've taught at Merritt College since 2003, you may be wondering why I do NOT
currently have a class I'm teaching (?)
Answer: to ensure diverse curriculum is offered to you — and to ensure all students can fulfill their requirements for degrees without undue inconvenience — we as faculty thought it best to delay any new bird-related classes until 2020.
Thus, here's the likely option for a new class that I'll next teach:
Bird Song Ecology: The Ecology of Birds' Songs & Learning Them By Ear
(Above, here's the cover of the text we'll enjoy using and from which we'll learn at my upcoming,
aforementioned class.)
We'll enjoy all-day field trips in this class and, perhaps, if you wish, I'll show you how I record birds' songs in the field. How many of you like this addition to the class that I previously have not
featured when offering this class in the past?
(Here's Sam Jones in the field recording birds via an article featuring him in Geographical
Magazine, per https://geographical.co.uk/people/explorers/item/2715-islands-in-the-sky)
Look for Bird Song Ecology: The Ecology of Birds' Songs & Learning Them By Ear soon here after it's confirmed as a class option...or please feel free
to write me at my email:

My 15-year-old web site — warblerwatch.com — will also be updated as soon as my new
aforementioned class is approved.
Thank you for your patience.
Lastly: I'm offering ongoing personal birding trips, if you wish to contact me.
In addition, I will offer a free Marin Audubon Society birding field trip in the near future, as the one I intended to lead on 1/11/19 was postponed due to the federal government shutdown.
Again, please contact me at my email # (dedelstein@peralta.edu) and I'll be glad to share my birding outing updates.
Regards, Daniel Edelstein
