Final Field Trip For BIOL 80C, "Fundamentals of Ornithology" (PHOTOS @ Limantour Beach, Pt. Reyes National Seashore)

Photos here highlight BIOL 80C students on the Earthquake Trail and at Pt. Reyes National Seashore:

1) Looking at a Red-shouldered Hawk (photos are far below);

2) Seeing a distant Common Loon and a raft of Surf Scoters on the Pacific Ocean (initial photos, below); and, in doing so,

2) Learning concepts related to how raptors such as the Red-shouldered Hawk hunt and, in addition, birds use "Active Soaring" as a skyward locomotion method, including Brown Pelican that are also gorgeous at our beachside location.
